This hike always has two options, namely hike to the Koʻolau summit, or go as far as you want and turn back. Another option that I followed Loren on once was to go to the summit, cross over to the end of the Waiau trail and follow that down to where it meets Halapepenui and follow that back to Waimano; it was fairly dark when we got back to the cars. Two options this day included following John up "Boy Scout Ridge" or following Joe up the switchbacks from below the Boy Scout shelter to Waimano Ridge and down that to the cars. |
