Wooden arrow
We've just passed the power pole one minute ago, almost all the way along South Ridge. I've wondered about this arrow for years, but Kelvin figured it out and set me straight: It means we're going the wrong way (left).

On June 8th, 2014, a group cleared this trail for a hike later in the month. The arrow was still pointing the "right way," as always. But on hike day, 17 days later, I was horrified to find nothng but traces of what it had been tied there with.

Steve, the only one ahead of me on the hike, told me later that he had found a wooden arrow lying in the trail, and took it to mark the point we leave the trail to head down into the valley. Somehow I didn't see it there, and hung a dead branch across the trail for the same purpose.
