One used to be able to continue, along the trail beyond the bench. I was already in breach of the "Stay with other hikers" rule, so I was glad I didn't plan to break this one! (Already 10:34, the 2009 hike--I better hurry!) Can't hike anywhere anymore!

Hard to read, but it says "In Memoriam/Daniel ... Levey/ ..." Daniel Levey was a young (19) avid hiker who fell down a waterfall near here in the dark, 2003-07-21. He had run a footrace, for which I was the timer, in Lanikai the day before.
