Another of my famous(?) fuzzy shots, but gives an idea of what "down" was like. (Or "up," for that matter!) By the way, heading right from about the middle of the dirt section in the center of the photo you may be able to see the remains of the beginning of a switchback HOOTS put in several years ago. The whole switchback shows in the last 2009 photo. I was unable to find it in real life on this hike day.
