Hikes from Hapaki 2013-05-01

Elevation distance/time profiles			This was not, technically, a Halapepenui hike, but that was one of the options, and one the hikes in the Google map here does include a version of that hike. You can toggle tracks on and off by clicking on their names in the box. And you can select map type by clicking and scrolling on "Google hybrid"; there are at least two topo maps in the list. "Special" is my track of the 2013-05-01 hike. At least two others did exactly the same route, except I thought maybe I had never tracked the regular route, so I went up the switchback to the top of the ridge then down the ridge at the beginning of the hike. It turns out I had tracked the route up the ridge when I did HalaLong. This was my first track of the switchback, however. A few hikers did add Halapelenui to the hike instead of heading down Waiau. I think they probaby did a shorter version than HalaLong, taking a route from "lunch" (move cursor over waypoint balloons) to "Road end." Some who came down Waiau took the short cut that shows in red when all tracks are turned on.
